The objections

SKUD is opposing the planning application because the development would have a major negative impact on South Kensington and the surrounding area. It will:

• Destroy the unique character of South Kensington ‘village’ by imposing a huge office and retail development in the heart of a residential conservation area
• Only deliver marginal improvements to the station.
• Increase the traffic on the roads causing more congestion and pollution
• Severely block the natural light in the surrounding area
• Put local retailers that have been established in the area for years out of business
• Obliterate the existing views and sense of space that contribute to South Kensington's charm
• Inflict years of disruptive construction work on local residents
